We’re not your traditional opera company. We believe that opera is for everyone in our community, and we've worked hard to make it something that Hawke's Bay can be proud of.
Our partnership with PPV is changing lives through the transformative power of music. We're helping build a more resilient generation of young singers.
Niamh Bentley (pictured playing Flora in our 2019 production of La Traviata), will take the stage as Queen of the Night for our schools focused performance on Monday 20 February, 11am. The performance, whilst also available to the public, provides an opportunity for local school students to enjoy an opera live, and en masse. The performance is ALWAYS the favourite of the season for all our visiting artists, since the students are fully engaged with the action - very expressive in their appreciation or disapproval of characters!! As a developing young soprano, Niamh has the opportunity to try a role that will be a key character for her as her voice develops, supported by our professional Queen of the Night, Christina Ellison, who sings the first three performances.
